Dr. Delesslyn A. Kennebrew, J.D., M.Div.

Delesslyn Audra Kennebrew is an energetic, articulate, organized, open-minded, and optimistic young lady who stands on the promise that her past accomplishments or accolades are not worthy to be compared with the glory of God that has yet to be revealed through her life!

Dr. Kennebrew is the oldest daughter of Bishop Vernon and Mrs. Mary Kennebrew who was challenged as a child to be a leader and a role model for others. She accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized at 8 years old under the pastoral leadership of her father and she later answered the call to proclaim the Gospel under the leadership of the legendary Rev. Jasper Williams, Jr. Dr. Kennebrew was licensed and ordained to the Gospel Ministry in 2006 under Rev. Jasper Williams, Jr. and did serve faithfully for a number of years in full time ministry as the Executive Pastor/Elder of Salem Bible Church – Atlanta, GA & Lithonia, GA. 

She then accepted the call to serve at the Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church in Memphis, TN as the Associate Pastor of the East Campus, Young Adults, Women, and Welcoming System. She later answered the call to serve as the Pastor of Church Administration at the Fellowship of Love Church in Fayetteville, GA under the leadership of Rev. BaSean Jackson. In April 2017, Delesslyn, along with a group of friends, launched The Living Room Christian Fellowship in Clarkston, GA. The Living Room is an ecumenical gathering of believers who come together to seek, to serve,and to celebrate. The vision is for all believers to experience LIFE, LOVE, LIBERATION, and LAUGHTER. The Living Room is an online ministry which can be seen every Thursday via Facebook Life at 7:05pm CST. You can follow Dr. Kennebrew on Facebook for the Live broadcast.[www.thelivingroomCF.com] Currently, Dr. Kennebrew is serving as the Regional Minister for Ministry Innovation in the Greater Kansas City Region of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She will implement the strategic plans of the region to plant thriving new churches and lead existing congregations through revitalization and transformation.

Dr. Kennebrew is active in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and has had ordination standing in Tennessee, Georgia. and Missouri. She has served on the Board of Trustees for the National Convocation, the General Assembly Mission Council for the denomination, and as President of the National Convocation Black Clergywomen Fellowship.

In the fall of 2014, she launched The WOVEN Network by hosting networking and empowerment events for women to operate victoriously in their lives. In June 2016, she co-founded The Orchid Project. The Orchid Project exists to invest in the lives of girls in Africa by meeting a basic need to promote healthy personal hygiene and cultivate positive self-esteem in order to prepare them to be leaders in their local schools and in our global community. Anyone who knows Dr. Kennebrew is clear about her passion for the ministry of writing. She has written over 400 blog posts and founded The Scribes Writing Group in Memphis, TN and has completed a number of ghostwriting projects as well as had articles published by The TRUTH, [D]mergent, Christianity Today and the African American Pulpit Lectionary. Delesslyn is also the author of three books:Step Out of the Boat: An Invitation to Walk on Water, The Power to be PERFECT: A Collection of Reflections on Spiritual Perfection,and From My Heart Through Yours: A 26-Day Journey in the Key of LOVE [pursuing publication].  

In her effort to enhance the work of ministry, she has trained ministry leaders at all levels including ministers and youth leaders, guided ministry leaders in creating and realizing their visions, organized ministry conferences, retreats, worship services, and other community events. She is clear that the work of the Kingdom of God extends far beyond the walls of the local church building. Thus, she has led in the community by forming faith based partnerships between church and public schools, served on the boards of the BaSix Knowledge Academy,

Operation Xposure Youth Foundation, Judah Praise Cheer and Dance, Inc. Furthermore, Delesslyn created and hosts the Kids Korner radio program every Sunday evening on Atlanta's AM 1570 WIGO [http://www.facebook.com/kidskornerradio] and is committed to inspiring visionaries via social media by leading the My Vision Fast for 21 days every January [www.MyVisionFast.com]. In 2017, Delesslyn became a FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) reservist which has created opportunities for her to support citizens in crisis after natural disasters.

Dr. Kennebrew has excelled academically. Upon completing a Bachelors of Arts degree in Mass Communications at Loyola University in New Orleans, LA, she went on to earn two professional degrees – a Juris Doctorate from the University of Arkansas School of Law and a Master of Divinity from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Delesslyn has maintained her connection to Emory University by working as an Adjunct Professor in the area of Preaching various semesters since 2005. In 2016, she graduated from the Doctor of Educational Ministry program at the Columbia Theological Seminary.

Her motivation for pursuing excellence in all areas of her life is found in Colossians 3:17, “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” This is her primary motivation as she continually pursues opportunities for training and development, embraces diverse activities and relationships, and empowers others through teaching, preaching, consulting, listening, singing, acting, and writing.
