BlogFam, this series is finally coming to a close but feel free to come back to it as often as you would like. This is our final post in #TheSHIFT Series. We have walked through: DESIRE, DELIBERATION, DECISION, DOCUMENTATION, and DECLARATION. Today, we will conclude this series with a word on DETERMINATION. Determination is defined as "firmness of purpose; resoluteness." Its synonyms include words or phrases such as: willpower, strength of character, single-mindedness, courage and grit. Determination is what we all need to have to keep on keeping on! I like this word. Determination. Friends, are you determined? Do you have the determination to pursue your purpose and reach your destiny? What is your level of determination? And will that be enough to get you to where you know that God is calling for you to be? When I began to write #TheSHIFT series, there was a passage of scripture that I had read which became the inspiration for it. Psalm 71:15-16 (ISV) I will declare your righteousness and your salvation every day, though I do not fully understand what the outcome will be.Lord God, I will come in the power of your mighty acts, remembering your righteousness—yours alone. I know that you might read this and your question might be, what in the world does this have to do with the shifts that are occurring or that are coming or that have already taken place in my life? Well, I am glad that you asked. When I first read these verses, I was in the middle of a shift in my own life. I was preparing to graduate and I could identify with this version of the psalmist when he wrote, "I do not fully understand what the outcome will be." That is how I felt. Actually, that is still how I feel! LOL! I have since graduated and I honestly have felt a shift in my mind and spirit and while "I do not fully understand what the outcome will be," meaning as it specifically relates to how the Lord will use this degree in my life, I cannot tell you. I just know that I am determined to continue to "declare His righteousness and salvation every day." BlogFam, as you walk through shifts, there must be certain things that you are determined to do regardless of what season you are in. There are certain things that will NEVER get too old or go out of style or become obsolete. Those things include declaring God's name and power and praise in the earth. Actually, as you are going through your shift, the stability you need, the assurance you need, the strength that you need to push on through is able to come from your determination, your single-mindedness, and your courage to make God's name GREAT in spite of the fact that you might not know, nor do you fully understand what the outcome will be. SHIFT is inevitable. SHIFT is here. And I pray that YOU have a made up mind and the strength of character to be faithful in the transition of the seasons. I pray that YOU will never tire of declaring the power and praise of God. I pray that you are determined to trust the Lord, especially when you do not know what the outcome will be. I pray that YOU will walk in the righteousness of God as you move toward the destiny that God has set for your life. I pray that this NEW season, wherever it is, whenever it might come, however you experience it, I pray that you will see how all things were working together for your GOOD. I pray ALL of this for YOU and for me. Friends, you need determination to reach your destination. You must have determination to reach your destination. You cannot go all the way to your destination without determination. And you are only shortchanging yourself if you lay your determination aside. Determination is what we all need to have to keep on keeping on! I like this word. Determination. Friends, are you determined? Do you have the determination to pursue your purpose and reach your destiny? What is your level of determination? And will that be enough to get you to where you know that God is calling for you to be? GOD LOVES YOU and I DO TOO! Blessings, Glory and Sunshine!
