Do NOT Be Surprised! ![]() 1 Thessalonians 5:1-5 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Greetings! BlogFam, I like surprises! I really do but maybe I should clarify that exclamation. I like surprises that are positive presents that make me smile and unexpected favors just because I was on someone's mind. I like the kind of surprises that add a little joy to my day and make others wish they were on the receiving end. I like surprises! Now, I am clear that everyone does not like to be surprised - no matter how positive the surprise might be. That is OK. We are all different and our tolerance for suspense and surprise varies. I can respect that but I still like surprises. I am also clear that every surprise that has happened in my life has not put a smile on my face. There are some events that have happened and gifts I have received that did no make me want to brag. Some surprises do not feel good and are very much un-welcomed. But there is ONE surprise that is not really a surprise that is to come into all of our lives and it will one day stop the whole world in its tracks. That surprise is the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. And while I do believe that Jesus will return one day, I have no clue when Jesus will come back. I do not know when He will come and I do not know where I will be or what I will be doing. But Jesus promised that He was definitely coming back. And just like I did not receive notice from the thief that my car was going to get broken into or that there would be an attempt to break into my house a few years later, I was surprised but I had done all I knew to do in advance to try to prepare myself in the event that something like that those incidents occurred. BlogFam, the day, the hour, the minute, the moment of Jesus' return might be a surprise BUT since you at least know that Jesus is coming back, are you prepared? AND to be honest with you, this Holy surprise really could go either way for people. Jesus return could be seen as a good surprise or not so good surprise depending on your heart's preparedness. But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. BlogFam, answer these questions. The answer is YES or NO and there is no in between. Are you ready for Jesus' return? Are you a son or daughter of light? Is your heart prepared to meet Jesus whenever He comes again? Jesus is coming as a thief in the night and for some the surprise of His presence will bring an overwhelming sense of peace and safety but for others, it will bring sudden destruction as travail upon a woman with child. Either way, n one will be able to escape the presence of the Lord Jesus on that day. BlogFam, DO NOT BE SURPRISED!!! It is no secret. Jesus is coming back and I want you to be ready. I want your heart to be prepared. I want your life to be as the light of day. I want you to feel peace and safety at the coming of this Holy surprise. GOD LOVES YOU AND I DO TOO!!! Delesslyn P.S. - If you need to get ready or if you just want to make sure that you are ready for Jesus to come back... PLEASE PRAY WITH ME... Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. But I believe that you died upon the cross for me. That you shed your precious blood for the forgiveness of my sin. And I believe that on the third day, you rose from the dead, and went to Heaven to prepare a place for me. I accept you now as my Savior, my Lord, my God, my friend. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and set me free from my sin. And, because you are my Savior, Jesus, "I shall not die, but have everlasting life". Thank you Jesus! AMEN. [Simple Prayer of Salvation] |
