![]() Greetings! BlogFam –
This week we will begin a new series entitled: Things We Left On the Mountain…
All of us, at one point or another, have had a
mountain top experience. An experience where
we have had an extraordinary moment of passion, felt a supernatural zest for
life, saw things more clearly than we ever have, and looked forward to
conquering the world! We have all had
mountain top experiences that left us speechless and fearless, empowered and enthralled
by the euphoria of what had been revealed to us. We have all had that moment where we said out
loud, AHA! I get IT now! For obvious reasons, I do not think that
mountain top experiences only happen on the top of mountains. I think these types of experiences can happen
at home in the kitchen or in the shower, at church in the sanctuary or in the
parking lot, at school in the classroom or on the playground, at work in your
office/cubicle or at the water cooler.
There is no set place and there is definitely not a set time. Your mountain top experience can happen
ANYtime – morning, noon, evening or midnight.
And no one is exempt. ALL of us have had these kinds of experiences
but there is something that separates us from the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King,
Juniors of our generation and it is this: WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU COME DOWN
FROM THE MOUNTAIN? As we begin this new blog series during the Lenten
season, I am praying that we would all have a 40 day mountain top experience. But most importantly, I am praying that when
we come down from the mountain of fasting and learning and reflecting and
worshiping, I pray that we would FOLLOW Jesus and allow Him to transform our
lives in magnificent ways. For the next
few weeks, we will walk through Matthew Chapters 5 - Chapter 8:1. And BlogFam, you know that we will take our
time and we may or may not cover every verse, but we will do our very best to
be inspired and to write as we feel led. Crowds of people had a mountain top experience
with Jesus where he taught profound lessons that were and still are able to
change lives but hearing a lesson and applying it are two different
things. Crowds were there but Matthew 8:1
is clear that everybody did NOT follow him when they came down from the
mountain. In my mind, a large crowd does
not mean everybody who was on the mountain.
BUT there were a few, who were apart of the
large crowds, fewer than the multitudes, who said, AHA! I get IT now!
And when they came down from the mountain, they had surrendered to the
transforming power of Jesus and FOLLOWED Him. Over the next few weeks, we will explore some
of the lessons that Jesus taught and we will also, together, anticipate that
these lessons will change our lives and give us all a deeper sense of
commitment to the words, the will, and ways of Jesus, our Master and our
Teacher. I pray that we will all choose
to be a part of the large crowds who FOLLOW Jesus when we come down from the
mountain. So, BlogFam, I pray that you will join me as
we hear the Words of Jesus on the mountain and I pray that we will not leave
them there! Let's go UP to the Mountain!!! Blessings, Delesslyn Follow @AudraSunshine or @SpiritedConcept TUNE IN TO KIDS KORNER EVERY Sunday Evening at 4:15C/5:15E Listen ONLINE at www.wigoam.com OR TuneIN Radio App on Your Cell - AM 1570 WIGO |
