The Words & Actions of a VISIONARY - Psalm 33:4

The Words & Actions of a VISIONARY
Psalm 33:4

Psalm 33:4 For the word of the Lord is right and true;  he is faithful in all he does.

BlogFam, Have you ever heard the expression: Actions Speak Louder than Words?  I have heard it and I have used it and today, I am challenged by it.  I am challenged because I am at the point on my journey where my words and my actions need to be consistent.  What I say and what you see in my actions, should be an honest reflection of who I really am.  I should not mask my words behind my actions or my actions behind my words.  I am striving to live such a life to where what YOU see and what you HEAR is who I really am.

I do not like to guess about people’s intentions or their motives or discover their hidden agendas.  That is just too much work but yet, we do it all the time.  We have to play detective with friends, family, co-workers because more often than not, what you SEE or HEAR is NOT who they are  or maybe it is.  It takes so much energy to speak and to act one way in one place and to act the complete opposite in a different setting.  Why can’t we all just be straight up?  Be who YOU are.  Be who YOU want to be.  DO YOU and DO YOU well!

Unfortunately, I am clear, that this is easier said than done.  Too many of us strive to be what OTHERS want us to be and we end up sending mixed messages and ultimately confused about our own identity!

As you know, just a few days ago, I began the MY VISION FAST [Check Out the Page on My Website] – a 21 day fast for the purpose of seeking to see God’s VISION for my life.  This week’s question is: HOW DO I SEE GOD?  And today, I am clear that I SEE God as a VISIONARY.  As the ULTIMATE VISIONARY, I ask what can I learn about God’s WORDS and God’s ACTIONS that will help me to live victoriously as a visionary in my own life.  AND today’s scripture answers that question for me: For the word of the Lord is right and true;  he is faithful in all he does.

Plainly stated – As the VISIONARY of my own life, MY words must be right and true and MY actions must be faithful.

 MY WORDS must be RIGHT.

Most of us will speak what is right….right for the moment, right for whomever is listening, right to get along, right to go along, right to fit in, right to get in… most of us speak what is right.  RIGHT words have their place.  RIGHT words should be spoken.  It is good to speak what is RIGHT.  It is good to speak words that are good, proper, and just.  I will not argue with that but I will push a little further to ensure that your words are not only RIGHT but that your words are also TRUE and not one or the other.

 MY WORDS must be TRUE.

Now, upon first reading, one might think – if our words are right, then they have to be true.  However, I think that it is possible to say the RIGHT thing in order to make someone feel good or to make it sound as if you are in agreement AND at the same time, if your heart is far from what your mouth has spoken, what you have said is NOT true.  I think we say too many things that are RIGHT for the moment because we want to fit in or we do not want to make anyone upset with us or we just do not want to honestly express our heart’s desire.

As a VISIONARY, you words must be RIGHT and your words must be TRUE.  In other words, say what you mean and mean what you say!  The meaning of what you say is in your heart.  And when you express what is in your heart, you are speaking the most genuine truth you can speak.  Do you want to know the reason why some of us will AVOID speaking the truth but will speak what is right?  Well, check out these quotes about speaking TRUTH:

“The pure and simple truth is rarely pure and never simple.”
“The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off.”

“In a time of deceit telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”

My friends, we all have a responsibility to speak what is RIGHT and to speak what is TRUE!  I can only imagine our lives if God ONLY spoke what was right to us.  What if GOD only spoke words that were right for our emotions or situations as we perceived them to be right for us?  What if God did not challenge or change our lives by loving us enough to speak what is right and what is true?  In God’s heart is LOVE and the words that God speaks flow from God’s heart of LOVE.  LOVE is God’s truth and because the words of God are TRUE, we also know that God’s words are right.

For the word of the Lord is right and true…and so must our words be.

Furthermore,  GOD is faithful in all He does.

As a believer, I am constantly reflecting on what I did or did not do AND what I need to do or what I should not have done.  I am not perfect but I strive to BE FAITHFUL.  To me, this simply means that, my actions are Christ-like and my actions are consistent.  In other words, my actions are reflective of my character, who I am on the inside and who I am is a Christian, a believer in Jesus Christ.  And to me, faithfulness means that my actions are Christ-like which speaks to my character and my actions are consistent which means I have the same character all of the time.

 God is Faithful.

 God is Consistent.

God is Christ.  Christ is God.

And as a VISIONARY, I must strive to be faithful.  I should live a life where people do not have to guess about who I will be from one day to the next.  I should NOT live a life where my Christ-like nature is hidden from the plain sight of those who observe my actions or engage me in conversation.  I must strive to be faithful – CONSISTENTLY CHRIST-LIKE -  at all times, in all places, around all people, and in all things.  Lord, Give Me/Us Strength!

BlogFam, I am striving to live such a life to where what YOU see and what you HEAR is who I really am and what you will get.  This is the model we have in the ULTIMATE VISIONARY, one whose words are RIGHT and TRUE and whose actions are FAITHFUL.  I pray that we would make this the hallmark of our lives as VISIONARIES…as SERVANTS in the Kingdom of God!  TGBTG!
