VISION - Introduction Proverbs 29:18a

VISION - Introduction
VISION - Introduction

Proverbs 29:18a - Where there is no vision, the people perish
Habakkuk 2:2 - And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
BlogFam, Where there is NO vision, the people perish.  And let’s make it personal –when there is NO vision for your own personal life or when you allow the vision of others to overcome or replace or supersede your own vision for your life, you will perish.  Let me begin there on today.
Friends, almost ONE year ago, I made a significant change in my life.  I resigned from a job that I loved!  Now,some of you are already wondering – Why in the world would you do something CRAZY like that?  And I admit, before I made the decision to do so, I NEVER would have thought that I would.  But I did and almost ONE year later I live to tell the story.  Now, I am not feeling like now is the exact moment for me to tell you the entire story but you can get a few clues from past blogs –Saying Goodbye and the blog series Moving On.  In this moment, I feel compelled to encourage all of my sisters and brothers in my BlogFam who are in any position or place where you feel like your vision for your own life is non-existent.  For while I understand and I greatly appreciate corporate and congregational vision, community and committee vision,I MUST tell you that I have an even greater appreciation for personal vision.  What is YOUR vision for YOUR own life?
ONE year ago, that is the question I asked myself.  And that was the prompt for conversation with the Holy Spirit. Delesslyn, I need you to pray about the vision for YOUR life.  Friends, I cannot stress or overemphasize enough how critical and crucial it is for YOU to have a vision for YOUR life.  YOU must be able to answer the question about what is next.  YOU cannot rely on anybody – I do not care how close you think they are to you – to cast a vision for your life.  The most and dare I say the ONLY reliable source for this kind of direction is the One who created you fearfully and wonderfully.
BlogFam, even Jesus had a vision.  Jesus was very clear about why He came and who He was/is and what He came to do and how He was going to accomplish it.  Jesus had a vision and everything Jesus did and said was in line with that vision. What about you?  What is your vision?  And if you do not have one, GET ONE!  And if you do, in what ways are you living your vision?  Notice that I intentionally did not say planning your vision. I meant to say LIVING your vision. We plan and process and talk and time line and then do nothing for too long.  Your vision should be the driving force of the Action Items on your life’s checklist.
And I am a witness that if YOU do not have your own vision, you will perish.  You will perish from regret for not being/doing what you know that God created you to be/do.  You will perish from jealousy because others are moving forward without you.  You will perish from a broken heart whose pieces can only be put together by the Almighty God.  You will perish in some way, form, or fashion if you do not have a clearly articulated vision for your own life!
So, I challenge YOU to write YOUR vision and make it plain to YOU first.  I challenge YOU to fast and pray at some point before the end of this year about God’s vision for your life.  I challenge YOU to make bold decisions that correspond to your vision. I challenge YOU to quit talking about nothing and get yourself together because the Lord has a GREAT work for you to do if you would only be open to see what’s next!
BlogFam, Go write YOUR Vision!!!
God Loves You and I Do Too!!!

AWESOME!I loved it,and it was good to hear your voice :) This blog is conformation for me. I've had plenty of visions for so long, but I became a procrastinator because of "fear", (the "picture" just seemed "too big" yes I know "God has not given us the spirit of fear"..but for some reason I just took it upon myself and laid my visions to rest. I knew deep down in my heart what GOD had planted on the inside of me, but yet and still I chose to remain in that "one state of mind" going nowhere, lesson learned. As of today, that fear that once held me back is NO longer apart of my life, and the timeline I've implemented is now in ACTION. I had a "crazy moment" just as you did when you resigned from your job...but I was ok with it, because I know it's GOD'S plan for my life! Thanks again Elder, you're always such a blessings! Love ya

Good Morning Elder DK. I am purposefully in process right now of cementing in my spirit GOD'S vision for my life- I admit things have become cloudy and somewhat foggy. The beauty of it all is knowing that the SON continues to shine regardless. I do appreciate you and your transparency. You have been a blessing every step of the way to me in your faith walk as you encourage others "to step out of the boat".
