OBLIGATION and IDENTIFICATION in times of Transition… Who
are you and what you need to do when it is time to move on Romans 8:12-17 Therefore,
brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live
according to it. For if you live according to the flesh, you
will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you
will live. For
those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The
Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again;
rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit
himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now
if we are children, then we are heirs —heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ,
if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his
glory. Click Logo to LISTEN NOW!!! Greetings! BlogFam, when it is time to move on, we must be
convincingly clear with ourselves and with others about our primary obligation
and identification at this time of transition.
The truth is that when it is time for you to move on, some people will
challenge your decision with their doubt, their questions, their insults, their
bullying, their selfish wisdom, and their ungodly criticism. Therefore, you must be equipped to stand
strong even if the only assurance you have is a word from the Lord! Friends, I am encouraged by our scripture passage for
today because when it is time to take that step forward, walking into the glory
of your Eighth Day, you will need the blessed assurance of the words for today
to keep you focused and void of faking and faltering conviction about the move
you believe the Lord is directing in your life.
When it is time for you to separate from whomever and whatever in order
to fulfill the perfect will of God for YOUR life, you must be able to know that
you know that you know – even if you know that you know what you know way deep
down inside - that this is exactly what
you are supposed to do. AND this passage
of scripture reminds us that in every move, transition, change, acquisition,
shift, and separation, we have ONE obligation and ONE true identification. Therefore,
brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live
according to it. For if you live according to the flesh, you
will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you
will live. BlogFam, our ONE obligation is to be led by the Spirit
of God….not what is convenient or popular or traditional or innovative. Our ONE obligation in any move is to be led
by the Spirit of God or we will die – possibly emotionally, relationally, financially,
socially, but definitely spiritually. For
those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. Furthermore, our obligation is an indication of our identification
as sons and daughters of the Most High.
This is a, if not the most critical tool for your moving on
successfully. You MUST know, understand,
appreciate, and give high regard to your identification as a child of God. The
Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again;
rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit
himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. YOU are a child of God! Please say this with me… I AM A CHILD OF GOD! I AM A CHILD OF GOD! I AM A CHILD OF GOD! This truth must be so apart of you that nobody can
steal, kill, or destroy this part of you, including you. In times of transition, it is so important to
KNOW who you are and to know WHOSE you are.
If you do not hold on to this truth, you will falter in your conviction
to proceed with the separation necessary for you to be fully compliant with how
and where your heavenly Mother and Father is leading you. You cannot guess about this. You cannot be scared of this. You cannot be ashamed of this. YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD and because this is
your primary mode of identification, your highest obligation above everyone and
everything is to be led by the Spirit of God. Friends, when it is time to move on, we must be
convincingly clear with ourselves and with others about our primary obligation
and identification at this time of separation/transition. You are a child of God and you must be led by the Spirit
of God. And being led by the Spirit of God is LIFE and
PEACE. I know that this can be a hard stance. So many people – including other children of
God – do not understand, will not understand, do not want to understand what it
means to be led by the Spirit of God without pre-determined boundaries within
their own minds about how far they are willing to go when it is time to
move. BlogFam, I do not want you to fall
into the trap of coming short of the glory of God because you have placed
limits on what you expect and what you allow our God to do in and through
you. Friends, I pray that you will be so
focused on your primary obligation as a child of God that whomever or whatever
comes as a diversion to your destiny is readily identified and quickly pulverized
with the whole armor of God. You are
full of life and peace IN THE NAME OF JESUS and in this time of separation/transition from
anyone or anything that has not been ordained to enter into this next season
will receive the appropriate benediction and last rites, if needed. And before you get too excited, let us remain balanced
and grounded in the scripture. Paul
continues to say… Now
if we are children, then we are heirs —heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ,
if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his
glory. In other words, YES, I believe that the good will
outweigh the bad but do not be naïve to assume that your identification and
obligation will prevent all suffering.
We are children of God and we are co-heirs of the glory of God but we
will also share in the sufferings of Christ.
But the KEY to this reality is that we already know that in the midst of,
and at the end of Christ suffering was VICTORY and so shall it be for you and
for me. Thus, my sistas and brothas, I am praying for you on
today. I pray that you would KNOW who
you are and whose you are. I pray that
you would walk in the godly confidence that you are indeed a CHILD OF GOD and
that you would make it your highest priority to be led by the Spirit of
God! I pray that on the days and nights
of frustration, heartache and pain, you would remember that you are sharing
with Christ. I pray that on the days and
nights of celebration, life and peace, you would remember you are also sharing
with Christ. I pray that you would stand
strong in your conviction to follow God beyond the boundaries you have set for
yourself or that others have set for you. And I pray that when it is time to move on, you ARE convincingly clear
with yourself and with others about your primary obligation and identification
at this time of transition.
