Guide: to assist (a person) to travel through, or reach a destination in, an unfamiliar area, as by accompanying or giving directions to the person

BlogFam, I am going to take the liberty I have with my blog and just have a little church on this morning – Our theme for this morning is Guide Me, O Lord!

Our scripture reading is taken from the 139 division of Psalms.
We will be reading verses 7-10.

Psalm 139:7-10
Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.

Now please enjoy this old hymn of the church –
Guide Me O thou great Jehovah, pilgrim through this barren land
I am weak but thou art mighty, hold me with thy powerful hand

Gracious God, we come to you, once more and again –

THANKING YOU for being a mighty God!  God, You are good and You are good to us and we say THANK YOU.  Today, we come asking that you would forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness so that we can walk before you being led by Your Holy Spirit and certain of Your truth.

Lord God, on today, we recognize that there is nowhere we can go to hide from your presence.  If we go up to the heavens, you are there; if we make our bed in the depths, you are there.  If we rise on the wings of the dawn, or if we settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide us and your right hand will hold us fast.

Lord God, today we need you to GUIDE US and HOLD US FAST!

Lord, Guide us.  Assist us as we travel through the valleys and over the mountains of life.

Lord, Guide us. Assist us as we attempt to reach destinations in You we have never seen before as we grow in our knowledge of Your Son Jesus the Christ.

Lord, Guide us.  Assist us as we walk into unfamiliar areas that You have set before the very foundations of the earth was laid for us to traverse.

Lord, Guide us.  Accompany us every step of the way.  Help us to feel your hand holding us fast, holding us close, holding us tightly.

Lord, Guide us and grip our lives so that we will know what it means to be loved and to be led by You.

Lord, Guide us and grip our lives so that we are daily reminded that there is nowhere we can go to hide from You.

Lord, Guide us and grip our lives so that we know your voice and your directions only will we follow.

Lord God, today, we need you to GUIDE US and HOLD US FAST!

Lord God, You have searched us, and LORD, You know us.
You know when we sit and when we rise;  You perceive our thoughts from afar.
You discern our going out and when we lie down;  You are familiar with all of our ways.

Lord God, today we need you to GUIDE US and HOLD US FAST!

Search us, God, and know our heart; test us and know our anxious thoughts.  See if there is any offensive way in us, and lead us in the way everlasting. And Lord God, as continue in this fast we expect that we will be changed  as You GUIDE US and HOLD US FAST, and as YOU feed us until we want no more...

In the name of the One who is our guide through this life and in the life to come… Amen.
