The Welcomed Unaccompaniment - Matthew 7:22-24a

Musical Term of the Day:
unaccompanied - a solo part, passage, or vocal ensemble without accompaniment.
Matthew 7:22-24a
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them,
I will liken him unto a wise man...
The Welcomed Un-accompaniment
I welcome being unaccompanied by some people
I welcome being unaccompanied by certain feelings
I welcome being unaccompanied by specific situations.
Now, I do not want you to misunderstand me.  I am not saying I am lonely.  I am just saying that there are just some people, certain feelings, and specific situations that I wish to live without.
I welcome being unaccompanied by messy people – gossiping people – dream-killer people – and lazy people.
I welcome being unaccompanied by feelings of hurt – despair – anger – and neglect.
I welcome being unaccompanied by situations of illness – break ups – failure – and death.
I welcome being unaccompanied.  What about you?   Who are some people that you can live without?  What certain feelings can you deal without?  What specific situations could you move on without?
I welcome being unaccompanied.
At the same time, I wonder.
I wonder who has welcomed being unaccompanied by me.  Who do I know would say that they could live without me? What feelings have others had that were caused by me that they really could have dealt without? And have I ever caused specific situations that people whom I know could have moved on without?
I welcome being unaccompanied.
At the same time, I wonder.
Do you?
I know we never like to think about our own personal idiosyncrasies, flaws, or hang-ups that have caused people to welcome our un-accompaniment.  Of course not.  We are God’s gift to the world.  Who would dare not want to welcome us?  I wonder.
I wonder if you or I will ever know, how unwelcomed we are.
I do not know, but I wonder.
I wonder most especially because I wonder how my witness is being hindered by things I have said or done, places I have been or avoided, situations I have created or ignored.
I welcome being unaccompanied.
At the same time, I wonder.
I wonder if the Lord has ever welcomed being unaccompanied by me.  Has there ever been a moment along my Christian journey where he looked and said I gave her life so why is she living like that? Has there ever been a moment where he looked and said I gave her feelings of joy and peace so why is she feeling that way?  Has there ever been a moment where he looked and said I am with her in every situation imaginable so why is she not trusting me to carry her through this?
I welcome being unaccompanied.
At the same time, I wonder.
Do you?
My Friends, I welcome being unaccompanied by some people, certain feelings and specific situations.  However, I really pray that Jesus, the True Lover of My Soul, does not feel the same way about me.  I know it might seem like a double standard so pray with me as I pray for you. For as much as we remove the welcome mat from some people, certain feelings, or specific situations in our own lives, if we are honest, we NEVER want to experience the same from the Lord.
BlogFam, a day will come when we will truly KNOW the status of our welcome in the Kingdom of God. AND on that day, I will NOT welcome being unaccompanied by the ONE who has extended endless mercy and grace to me.  On that day, I will NOT welcome hearing him asking me to leave His presence.  On that day, I will NOT welcome being escorted to eternal darkness.
So, today, while I still welcome being unaccompanied, I pray that I never get to the place where I welcome being unaccompanied by Him. What about you?
Black History Month - Quote of the Day:
We should emphasize not Negro History, but the Negro in history. What we need is not a history of selected races or nations, but the history of the world void of national bias, race hate, and religious prejudice. ~Carter Woodson, 1926
