MY New Year's Resolution!

BlogFam, PLEASE sing with me…..
YES, Jesus Loves Me. YES, Jesus Loves Me.
YES, Jesus Loves Me, for the Bible tells me so.
Jesus Loves Me, THIS I know, for the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to Him belong.  They are weak but He is strong.
Jesus Loves me, He who died. Heavens gates He opened wide.
He will wash away my sins to let His little child come in.
YES, Jesus Loves Me. YES, Jesus Loves Me.
YES, Jesus Loves Me, for the Bible tells me so.
THANK YOU for singing with me!  On this, the first day of a brand new year, I am so excited that I am walking in the LIGHT of Jesus Christ.  I will not speak against the other ways that people have come to accept as their personal belief system BUT I will say this: For me, I am CLEAR, that Jesus is the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE that I have embraced and will continue to seek and about which I will testify.
I am NOT open to diminishing the LOVE I have for Christ simply because others may find the Gospel offensive.  I would only pray that my lifestyle would be a witness to them that God’s LOVE is so much greater than ANYTHING I could offer as a comparison and that what others might see as offensive would indeed be overwhelmed by the JOY and the JUSTICE of His Love.
Now, with that being said, I want you to know that I did not make a list of resolutions this year. Actually, to be quite honest, I did not plan to do so because for the last few weeks of 2011, I had already begun to make the necessary changes in my life that would propel me into 2012 already having made progress.  However, if there is ONE thing that I will share with you as it relates to my New Year’s Resolutions is the NUMBER ONE item at the top of my list:
Philippians 3:9-14 (AMPL)
That I may [actually] be found and known as in Him, not having any [self-achieved] righteousness that can be called my own, based on my obedience to the Law's demands (ritualistic uprightness and supposed right standing with God thus acquired), but possessing that [genuine righteousness] which comes through faith in Christ (the Anointed One), the [truly] right standing with God, which comes from God by [saving] faith.
[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope]
That if possible I may attain to the [spiritual and moral] resurrection [that lifts me] out from among the dead [even while in the body].
Not that I have now attained [this ideal], or have already been made perfect, but I PRESS ON to lay hold of (grasp) and make my own, that for which Christ Jesus (the Messiah) has laid hold of me and made me His own.
I do not consider that I have captured and made it my own [yet]; but one thing I do [it is my ONE aspiration]: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,
I PRESS ON toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward.
BlogFam, THIS passage of scripture will be my DAILY resolution.  This is my VISION.  This is my highest aim and my deepest desire.  Now, I do acknowledge that this passage can and will be lived out in a number of different ways and it remains to be seen how our God will order my steps to fulfill this word in my life.  However, I believe that God will do so because God loves me and I believe that my desire to love and be loved will inspire me to PRESS ON toward the most supreme and heavenly prize in communion with my heavenly Father through Jesus, His Son.
Ladies and Gents, HAPPY NEW YEAR!  And on this first day of 2012, I invite you to answer the following questions FIRST so that you will also be clear about where you stand and have a clue about how you will PRESS ON with God:
  • What is your daily spiritual resolution?
  • What is your highest aim?
  • What is your deepest desire underneath the superficial and materialistic goals you have set for yourself?
  • What is your motivation for living the life you will live from this day forward?
Let us pray…
Holy One, I thank you for the Word you have declared over my life from my mother’s womb. And on today, I avail myself to receive that word. I acknowledge that I do not understand how these things can be in my life but I trust that I was created for this purpose and with you NOTHING shall be impossible.
It will come to pass.
So, Lord, I thank you for the seed that will impregnate me, that will grow inside of me over time, and one day, I will give birth to something
that many have long awaited.
IN JESUS NAME, I pray, Amen.
God Loves You and I do too!
