Things are NOT as They Appear! Luke 8:52-53

Things are BETTER Than They Appear!

Luke 8:52-53 NIV

Meanwhile, all the people were wailing and mourning for her. “Stop wailing,” Jesus said. “She is not dead but asleep.” They laughed at him, knowing that she was dead.

Greetings!

BlogFam,
Things are NOT always as they appear. I know that you have heard this before and you have probably made this statement. It is true. Things are NOT always as they appear.

You can probably think of a few events in your own life where the situation looked one way but the more time you spent in prayer - and dare I say, prayer and fasting - you gained a more enlightened perspective that helped you to see that your situation was NOT dead but only sleeping.

This is a word of hope for someone on today because perhaps YOU or someone you know is experiencing a crisis of sorts and things do NOT look good. You have tried everything you knew to try. You have had every conversation that you thought you needed to have. You have gone everywhere you thought you needed to go. But it seems that nothing has changed. In fact, things look like and you feel like you have hit rock bottom. BUT today, I just want to remind you that things are NOT always as they appear.

And do you want to know why I am so very sure of that declaration? Because JESUS said it himself.

Jairus' daughter had been pronounced dead. And when he finally arrived at Jairus' house, people were already wailing and mourning for her. BUT Jesus says:

“Stop wailing,” Jesus said. “She is not dead but asleep."

In other words, things are NOT always as they appear and let me add a caveat...  Things are NOT always as they appear especially when JESUS has anything to do with it!

There is just something that makes EVERY situation different when Jesus is invited to be apart of it. His presence and his power are available to change our perspective and to correct our thoughts about what we think we see. And I know it might seem crazy to take on a godly perspective and to trust the thoughts of possibility that a miracle can still take place. But when we invite Jesus into the most trivial or even the most dire circumstances, we can expect that Jesus will give us a word that will help us to understand that things are NOT always as they appear.

Jairus' daughter appeared dead but JESUS said she was only sleeping.

Now, I do not know what made the physicians of that day draw that conclusion. I am clear that they did not have access to the advancements in medical technology that we are privy to in the 21st century. But apparently, based on all that they knew to look for, she appeared dead. They pronounced her dead. They came to Jairus while he was still with Jesus on the way to his house to announce to him that she was dead. The people were already wailing and mourning as if she was dead. Sadness and grief had begun to sink in beause everyone thought she was dead. And in spite of everything that had happened when it looked like this little girl was dead, JESUS SPEAKS LIFE!

Jesus said, “She is not dead butasleep.”

BlogFam, again, when we invite Jesus into the most trivial or even the most dire circumstances, we can expect that Jesus will give us a word that will help us to understand that things are NOT always as they appear.

And PLEASE BE CLEAR: Your faith in the word of the Lord to speak life into what appears to be a dead situation will be given the side eye, a chuckle, a blank stare, and even a LOL [Laugh Out Loud] by some. But do not be discouraged because of their response to your faith. You just BELIEVE GOD and KNOW that things are NOT always as they appear!

For with Jesus, things are always BETTER than they appear!

GOD LOVES YOU and I DO TOO!!!
