STOP HITTING SNOOZE!!! Romans 13:11-14  Greetings! BlogFam, As I write today’spost, I must admit to you that I feel like we are on the cusp of something GREAT as the Body of Christ. As men and women who actively pursue God’s way of living and being and doing, I believe that the GREATER works of the Kingdom CAN be done NOW. However, I believe that the word for this hour is this: STOP HITTING SNOOZE!!! I know that sounds a little crazy and you probably expected something a bit more profound than the three words I used, but during the MY VISION FAST, those three words have to be the most revelatory and revolutionary words I heard in the Spirit. A few years ago,I attended a networking convention for business, entertainment, and political professionals in Atlanta, GA. In one of the classes that I attended, one of the gentlemen participating in the class was sharing some very profound insights in the conversation we were having and I felt like I needed to meet him after the session was over. After the class, I walked up to him and I introduced myself and we had a very inspiring conversation. We exchanged information and connected on Facebook and even now, I continue to feel challenged by his words of wisdom. One day, after the convention, I was listening to his Internet broadcast and one thing that he said that really did strike me and has now been awakened in me is this: STOP HITTING SNOOZE!!! He went on to explain that we need to be in the practice of keeping our commitment to ourselves even when it comes to the time we say we want to get up. He talked about how hitting snooze can make us lazy and late for appointments with our own selves, let alone others and of course, for me that translated into being lazy and late for my appointments with my destiny and with the divine. As a VISIONARY,BlogFam, the word for today is for YOU to STOP HITTING SNOOZE!!! We have all missed too many appointments that could have changed our situations or circumstances simply because we hit snooze. We hit snooze for so many different reasons.
We hit snooze for so many different reasons and as we close out the 21 day MY VISION FAST, I am strongly encouraged and I am encouraging you to STOP HITTING SNOOZE!!! If you are sick and tired of feeling like you are behind the crowd, playing catch up, or coming up short, then it is NOW time to LIVE your life differently and the very first thing YOU can do is STOP HITTING SNOOZE! When you hit snooze, YOU are choosing to delay and even deny fully embracing the destiny that has been set in order from your birth. When YOU hit snooze, YOU cannot blame or point the finger at someone else for the missed opportunities or broken relationships. When YOU hit snooze, YOU cannot later complain that you are feeling left out or left behind because for some reason, at the time you hit snooze, YOU preferred to embrace the comfort of what was cozy and familiar rather than RISE and SHINE! AND just how do we hit snooze? We hit snooze when we do not return certain phone calls or respond to certain emails. We hit snooze when we eat that extra piece of cake or skip our workout routine. We hit snooze when we do not apply ourselves in class or to the study of the Word. We hit snooze when we lie, cheat, steal, speak out of turn, hang out past our bedtime, slack on our assignments, skip worship, participate in gossip or any form of manipulation or offensive/illegal activity. We hit snooze when we do ANYTHING that reflects that we do not love God and love our neighbor as we love ourselves. My friends, STOP HITTING SNOOZE! That was actually a part of the last ten days of my fast. I wanted to practice what it felt like to NOT hit snooze in the mornings when the time had come for me to RISE and SHINE. I admit that I did not like it. I even fussed at myself for making such a seemingly crazy commitment. But the more, I made the decision to hit the floor at the top of the morning, I admit that I had a different kind of attitude throughout the day and even began to question the ways that I have hit snooze on my own dreams and destiny. and NOW, I have decided that I will do my very best to make it a personal practice and policy to STOP HITTING SNOOZE because whatever God has for me and however God has chosen to order my steps, I refuse to deny or delay God’s Vision/Purpose for my life any further! I LOVE our passage of Scripture for today… Romans 13:11-14[MSG] But make sure that you don’t get so absorbed and exhausted in taking care of all your day-by-day obligations that you lose track of the time and doze off, oblivious to God. The night is about over, dawn is about to break. Be up and awake to what God is doing! God is putting the finishing touches on the salvation work he began when we first believed. Wecan’t afford to waste a minute, must not squander these precious daylight hours in frivolity and indulgence, in sleeping around and dissipation, in bickering and grabbing everything in sight. Get out of bed and get dressed! Don’t loiter and linger, waiting until the very last minute. Dress yourselves in Christ, and be up and about! BlogFam, it is time for YOU to RISE and SHINE! STOP HITTING SNOOZE! GET UP and GET DRESSED! And BE ABOUT OUR HEAVENLY FATHER’S BUSINESS..or should I say, our FATHER’S VISION!!! We do NOT have time to hit snooze any longer! There are NO extra minutes in the day! Tomorrow is NOT promised! And lying in bed for a few more minutes will NOT make things any better! So GET UP and stop making excuses for why you do NOT have or for why you cannot go or do or be whatever or wherever it is you desire! STOP HITTING SNOOZE! There is work to be done in our lives and on behalf of God’s Kingdom and we ALL need to be UP and AWAKE, UP and ABOUT, UP and ALERT to the moves of our God! STOP HITTING SNOOZE! If you need more rest, go to bed earlier. Use your time wisely. Ask the Lord to show you the areas in your life where YOU have been hitting snooze for whatever reasons. We cannot afford to waste ONE minute sleeping on our divine destiny! We cannot afford to keep turning over on God’s Vision! We must RISE and SHINE and give God ALL of the glory that is due to Him in every aspect of our lives! VISIONARIES, I am telling you that the ALARM is going off RIGHT NOW!!! Will YOU WAKE UP?
