It ALL Begins and Ends With God! - Gen. 1:1; Rev. 1:8

It ALL Begins and Ends with God!

 Greetings!

BlogFam, today is the start of the 21 day MY VISION FAST where men and women from all over this nation will SEEK to SEE God’s VISION for their lives.  We will follow a 21 day prescribed Spiritual, Physical, and Practical Plan which can be found on the MY VISION FAST page of my website.  It is my desire to reflect on each of the scriptures and the weekly questions of the Spiritual Plan for the duration of the fast.

The Question of the Week: HOW DO I SEE GOD?

 Today’s Scripture:  Genesis 1:1; Revelation 1:8

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Revelation 1: 8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

BlogFam, it ALL begins and ends with God!

What more can I say about the ONE with whom it ALL begins and ends?  There is something within me that takes GREAT comfort in knowing that I am NOT that ONE.  I am NOT the one who has set life in motion.  I am NOT the one who has the power to give life and to take it away.  I am NOT the one who is looked upon to sustain life.  I am NOT the one who has to have a plan for every life.  It/LIFE all begins and ends with God.  Now, I am clear that God’s GRACE has extended to us the choice to LOVE the giver of LIFE.  We are not forced to love the Alpha and Omega.  We are NOT forced to surrender to the one who has the prerogative to begin or end life as we know it.  We have a choice and the choices we make in our lives reflect whether or NOT we depend upon our Creator to lead, guide, or direct our lives.

I am NOT the ONE.  If it were up to me to be that ONE who gives, sustains, plans, and ends life, I might make some very different choices from the Almighty.  I am just being honest with you.  I cannot tell you that everyone on the planet would have chance after chance after chance to get their lives together.  I cannot tell you that I would continue to breathe life into people who take life for granted or abuse their lives or abuse the lives of others.  I just do not understand how our Creator is able to graciously breathe the breath of life into men and women who have no regard for love, peace,  or justice.  I just know that I am NOT the ONE….and I really am glad about that.

I am glad because that takes loads of responsibility off of my shoulders and there is no expectation by all of creation to ensure that all systems of life are in proper working condition.  I am glad because I would probably conveniently forget to wake some folks up every morning especially because I would probably be privy to knowing the evil intentions of their hearts.  I am glad because I probably could not handle the rejection of my love, forgiveness, and grace minute by minute by people who are receiving LIFE from me.  BlogFam, it ALL begins and ends with God and I am glad that I never really have to fully understand how or why God allows LIFE to happen as it happens.

BUT then again… maybe I should reconsider some things about my own life and how the life that God has given to me impacts and influences life as we know it.

I mean… though I am not the giver or the sustainer of life and I am not the Alpha or the Omega, but because I choose to live my life surrendered to the ONE who is, well, perhaps I need to reevaluate the power of how my life witnesses on behalf of the one who breathes life into me.  In other words, how can I/WE live our lives in such a way that gratefully honors the ONE who is the beginning and the end, the Alpha and Omega?

Perhaps, we, as believers, have truly underestimated the power of our life’s witness in this world.

Perhaps, we, as believers, need to be even more intentional about our lives as light in this world, pointing our friends, relatives, associates, and neighbors to the one who is the beginning and the end.

Perhaps, we, as believers, need to repent for not taking responsibility for the ways in which our witness in this world can give, sustain, abuse, or end life.

BlogFam, YES, it all begins and ends with God.  I am still glad about that.  However, today, I am also reminded that my life, surrendered to the ONE who was and is and is to come, must bear the kind of witness that inspires the lives of others so that they, too, will gratefully honor the ONE with whom it all begins and ends.

GOD LOVES YOU AND I DO TOO!!!
