PIT STOPS – The One Question You MUST ask Yourself! - Romans 8:18

PIT STOPS – The One Question You MUST ask Yourself!
Romans 8:18
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing
with the glory that will be revealed in us.

Greetings!

BlogFam, when it is time to move on, there will be brief moments along your journey forward when you will ask yourself is IT worth it?  This is such a common question.  You are not alone in asking this question.  And it is a very important question for YOU to have the answer to.  Anytime that any one of us makes a decision to do something different or out of the ordinary or unlike anything we have ever done before, we will have moments when we interrogate ourselves.  We question ourselves because we want to be sure that this move is the next right step for us and we also question ourselves because we might know that perhaps we moved too quickly.  Either way, we need affirmation within to do what we need to do in order to keep moving forward or to run back to where we first began.

Most of the time, these kinds of questions arise AFTER we have taken at least one step in the direction of what we believe is our next destination.  Perhaps, we have hit a bump in the road, ran into a stop sign, faced with an unforeseen choice between two paths, or maybe we are just lonely, scared, and nervous.  Perhaps we might even think that it all just seems too good to be true!  Whatever we face or however we may be feeling, it is time for a quick pit stop AND I do mean a quick pit stop so that you can get the affirmation and the confirmation you need to keep on moving on!

Friends, do not linger in this place or in this mental space for too long.  If you linger for longer than necessary to get the answer you need, you will get stuck betwixt and between your former and your latter glory.  This is NOT a good place to be.  It might feel safe and secure at first because having only taken one step, much of what you see and hear is very familiar.  But not long after you begin to recognize how what is so familiar spawned your desire to move on in the first place, you will have a quick minute to decide – will you stay?  OR will you leave?

BlogFam, I have been in this place on more than one occasion in my life.  I have had many quick pit stops.  I have had stops that lasted just enough time for me to regroup and keep moving on and I have also had stops that lasted far too long which caused a delay in the progress toward the next step – and I might even venture to admit that I probably missed out on some things because of my delay.  People will move on without you.  Opportunities will pass over you.  Time will not wait on you. This is YOUR pit stop.  NOTHING and NOBODY is required to stop because of you.  So, you need to make a decision – will you stay? OR will you leave? And move on.  For either way, you will move on.  You will move on – forward, backward, sideward, upward, downward, around the wayward – you will move on.

But on today, BE ENCOURAGED, BlogFam, because the wisdom of our text applies to this quick moment of decision:

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with
the glory that WILL be revealed in us.

In your current or at your next pit stop, keep this verse in mind and while you are asking yourself a bunch of questions, ask yourself this ONE question:

Do I consider that my present sufferings are not worth comparing with the GLORY that WILL be revealed in me?

The answer is YES or NO.

My sistas and brothas, do not let your pit stop be in vain.  Learn what you need to learn.  Gain what you need to gain.  Drop off who or what you need to drop off.  And by all means, make the decision to MOVE ON toward the glory of God that will be revealed in you!   Do not allow yourself to get stuck in a place that was only supposed to last for only so long.  Do not allow others to hold you back because they feel more comfortable with you hanging around at the expense of your peace of mind and unspeakable joy.  Do not be afraid to break free from what has held you back or to forego what is familiar in order to walk confidently into your purpose!

BlogFam, when it is time to move on, there will be brief moments along your journey forward when you will ask yourself is IT worth it? Do I consider that my present sufferings are not worth comparing with the GLORY that WILL be revealed in me?  The answer is YES or NO.  And I pray that you would say YES because I cannot wait to see you in your future glory!
