First Things First! Romans 8:1-2

FIRST THINGS FIRST
Romans 8:1-2
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,

Greetings!
BlogFam, as you prepare to move on from whoever or whatever to wherever your next step will take you, you inevitably must be prepared to tell whoever or whatever you are leaving behind that IT is over and IT no longer has a hold on you.  I know that some of you may try to ignore this reality but those who do are usually the very ones to limit the possibilities of their futures.  You MUST deal with first things first.  You cannot truly move on in a whole and healthy way until your past has been given the attention it deserves.   I know that we try to let bygones be bygones but the truth is, most of us really do not know how to do so.  Unless and until you have the PEACE of God ruling and reigning over your past, your present will be shaky and your future will seem bleak.  The scripture talks about how we must lay aside the sin and the weights that so easily besets us and the memory of your past may not in and of itself be sin or sinful, but the memory of your past CAN easily be a weight that will offset your journey into your future.  I know that you have probably made some changes since IT happened but have you moved on – spiritually, emotionally, psychologically, socially, financially, et cetera?

Your past can be a tricky reality to face and to actually deal with because most of us do not want to feel those old feelings, cry those same tears, spend the same money, see those cruel people, hear those hurtful words.  We want to avoid all of that which is why we try to leave IT in the past, where IT more than likely belongs.  However, your freedom demands that  you break whatever chains are keeping you in bondage.  So many of you are talking about your future, making plans for your future, dressing up for your future, and all of that looks and sounds good to those who are around you but if we were to truly penetrate the portals of your mind, we would know that your talk and your look is cheap simply because you have not dealt with first things first.  We would see the chains that keep you from truly moving forward into that which you speak of so eloquently, that which you have planned so elaborately, and that for which you are dressed so elegantly.

BlogFam, our scripture for today is a critical starting place for all of us as we prepare to MOVE ON into our EIGHTH DAY.

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free
from the law of sin and death.

It does not matter what you have been through.  It does not matter what they said or did or did not say or did not do.  It does not matter how long ago it happened.  What matters is that you face it AND deal with it, so that you can move on.  AND this verse is critical because whenever we are beholden to our past for anything, we live in a state of condemnation.   This means that we have accepted the unfavorable or adverse judgment of our past and we more than likely feel guilty, convicted, censured, and possibly unfit for use or service.  This is such an unpleasant place to be and we deceive ourselves into thinking we have moved on without realizing that these buried feelings because of our past will keep us from moving on into our futures, walking into our destiny, embracing the pleasures of our Promised Land.

Friends, we MUST keep and do first things first.  Again, as you prepare to move on from whoever or whatever to wherever your next step will take you, you inevitably must be prepared to tell whoever or whatever you are leaving behind that IT is over and IT no longer has a hold on you.  You must do whatever you need to do and say whatever you need to say to walk in the freedom that the Lord has already pronounced over your life.  This is critical to moving on in a healthy and whole way.  For in Christ Jesus, there is NO condemnation.  Period.

Therefore, there is now NO condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free
from the law of sin and death.

My sistas and brothas, it is time to break the chains of whatever is keeping you tied to your past because whoever or whatever IT is, IT is keeping you from walking into your eighth day and that is NOT how our Lord intended for your life to be.  You are FREE from sin and death.  You are FREE from the sinful and the dead people, places, and things of your past.  And on today, I pray that you would ask the Lord to reveal the chains and to break the bonds that are holding you back.  Anything that is keeping you from moving on because of this ungodly state of condemnation, I pray that you would be released today IN THE NAME OF JESUS.  On today, I pray that you would have a vision of your EIGHTH DAY that is NOT clouded by the shame or guilt of your past.  I pray that you would have the courage to face and deal with whoever and whatever you need to deal with first so that you can experience true liberation and as you walk into your EIGHTH DAY victory, I pray that you would share the good news with someone else that YES, they can be free too!  For the promise of the word today is for ALL of us who confess and believe –

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free
from the law of sin and death.

BlogFam, let us keep first things first!  God has so much in store for us that God wants to share with us but we must keep first things first.  For when we keep first things first, then and only then will we move on into our eighth day without condemnation and in total victory!

God Loves You and I do too!
