ON THE EIGHTH DAY: SPIRITUAL KEYS TO MOVING ON

Greetings!

Click Logo to LISTEN NOW!!!

BlogFam, On today we begin a new series.  As you probably know by now, for those who have been with me since the beginning of my blogging journey, I am very prayerful about each and every step.  I am daily inspired by the Word of God and so each series we begin grows out of that and of course my personal life experiences.  The title of our new series is:

ON THE EIGHTH DAY:  SPIRITUAL KEYS TO MOVING ON

Now before you complete that thought in your head that reminds me that there are only SEVEN days in a week, I will explain.  I was just going to entitle the series Moving On.  I thought that was sufficient.  In fact, that is what I announced the name of the series to be this morning on Twitter and Facebook.  However, as I sat to write this introduction, I got a tap on the shoulder in the Spirit.

I will begin this series with one of my favorite chapters in the Bible, Romans 8.  This scripture has lifted me in so many ways and led me through my journey so many times that it seemed like the best place to begin.  AND the number eight is the number of new beginnings.  AND since this is a new series and I will soon begin another new chapter in my own life, I thought, it just felt right.  Most of the time we talk about tomorrow or the next day or the day after next and so I just gave that day a number.  I do not at all think that God missed a day.  [LOL!]  I just know that most of us have such great hopes and dreams for days gone by that have not yet faded and so I am naming the day to come the EIGHTH DAY.

The Eighth Day is the day we ALL look forward to meeting.  The Eighth Day is so full of possibilities and wonder and more than what we could ever dream of for today.  The first day of any new experience is always so very special and significant and the last day is the same BUT what I love about this concept of the EIGHTH DAY is that it is ALWAYS in the future.  The EIGHTH DAY transforms our lives and our vision for our lives in ways that the first and the last day with anyone or anything will never have the opportunity to do.  For when we meet our EIGHTH DAY, the day we have been waiting for, it actually becomes our first or our last day and when we look again, the EIGHTH DAY is something NEW, all over again.

I like the EIGHTH DAY.  It is always ahead of me and never behind me.  It is always brighter than the present and it never succumbs to my past.  It is a day of hope and faith and it is the evidence of what I have not yet seen.  And today, we begin again…. On the EIGHTH DAY.  Friends, the challenge with looking forward to the EIGHTH DAY, is that when we meet it, we MUST adjust our lives, our relationships, our finances, our living arrangements, our attitudes, our careers, our everything in order to MOVE ON and to move forward along the journey our God has set before us.

This is an interesting season in the Body of Christ.  I have heard of so many moves of God in the lives of believers over the last few months and I am excited to be in that number!  People are MOVING on, in, out, around, up, down, to the side, down the street, around the block, and ahead.  People are always moving actually but unfortunately, we do not always know HOW to do so with grace, in peace, and for love.  In this series, we will begin a conversation about MOVING ON and for now, we will use Romans 8 as our guide.  I am excited about this new series and I pray that you will join me and continue with me as we all look forward to the EIGHTH DAY and what it really means for us to MOVE ON.

God Loves You and I do too!
