 EARTHQUAKES! Matthew 28:2-6 NLT v.2 Suddenly there was a great earthquake! For an angel of the Lord came down from heaven, rolled aside the stone, and sat on it. NIV v.2-6 There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shookand became like dead men. The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay Click Logo to LISTEN NOW!  Greetings! BlogFam, did you know that every disruption in your life is NOT of the devil? Suddenly there was a great earthquake! For an angel of the LORD came down from heaven, rolled aside the stone, and sat on it. It is amazing how many things we might attribute to the enemy when the reality is that we could look in the mirror or look up to heaven to correctly identify the initiating culprit. The women went back to the tomb and the NLT says SUDDENLY there was a disruption in their stride , a great earthquake because the LORD had sent an angel to remove a barrier so that they could see that what Jesus had prophesied and what the angel was going to say was TRUE. I can only imagine that this sight was like nothing they had seen in their lives and they were afraid! This angelic figure from heaven did not come quietly or with very much discretion. The announcement from heaven that the Lord had risen caught their attention with a shifting of the earth itself. For – Suddenly there was a great earthquake! An earthquake is a series of vibrations induced in the earth's crust by the abrupt rupture and rebound of rocks in which elastic strain has been slowly accumulating. An earthquake is something that is severely disruptive,disturbing, unruly, and upsetting. An earthquake will get YOUR attention! And on the first day of the week, these women encountered a sudden move of the Lord that caught their attention in a way that stunned them and silenced those who were there to guard the Lord’s body. This earthquake most certainly came with a message from heaven to those women who had come to the tomb to look for our Lord – “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.” Again, I ask, did you know that every disruption in your life is not of the devil? Friends, our Lord will cause events in our lives that are severely disruptive, disturbing, unruly, and upsetting in order to send you a personalized proclamation that what the Lord has already promised you that He would do, has ALREADY been done! Jesus HAS risen! He kept His word! And since the Lord knows – by virtue of these women visiting a place for the dead – that we NEED proof of His mighty work in our lives, He will invite us to COME and SEE the place where He used to lay! Sometimes we need a good earthquake to shatter the thoughts that have us bound to things that are lifeless and drain our energy in negative and depressing ways. Sometimes we need a great earthquake to silence the enemies who stand guard as soldiers doing everything they can to keep what the Lord promised us from coming to fruition. Sometimes we need a sudden earthquake in order to get our attention to exclaim that our prayers have ALREADY been answered, we do NOT have to cry anymore, and we can move on from this dead situation because even Jesus is NOT here! HALLELUJAH!!! My sistas and brothas, I am excited on today that our Lord will surprise us by shifting the earth and sending unexpected messengers into our lives to give us the direction we need and at the same time put our enemies to shame – NOT because we were so faithful but because the Lord is so GOOD!!! God loves you so much that the Lord will intentionally disrupt your whole life and shatter your expectations and shift the earth so that YOU can get the message that HE HAS RISEN!!! And because HE has risen, YOU do not have to stay in this dead place. Because HE has risen, YOU do not have to be afraid of the terrors by night or the arrows that come in the day. Because HE has risen, YOU can rise above the confines of everything and everyone who would attempt to keep you focused on the dead things in your own life! BlogFam – BE ENCOURAGED! This earthquake has not come to take you out but to raise you up to newness of life and to let you know that the promise of heaven to YOU has already been fulfilled!
