Miracles in Your Life IF... - John 4:46-53

Miracles in Your Life IF...

Musical Term of the Day:
volubilita - freedom of performance

John 4:46-53

So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.

When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.

Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.

The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.

Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.

And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.

Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.

So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.

Have you ever considered that the miraculous acts that you desire to see in your life are not happening due to your unbelief in God’s power to perform that which you desire?  I am not saying that you do not believe IN God.  I am not saying that you do not believe that God is ABLE. I am asking you to consider whether you believe that our God will perform the miraculous in YOUR life.

In our scripture passage for today, the nobleman had a need.  He went to Jesus.  Jesus spoke a word. The nobleman believed that word. And at the same hour, his son was healed.  If there is anything that this passage teaches us, it is this: We must BELIEVE the word of the Lord to experience the miraculous in our lives.

BlogFam, I know that this sounds so simple.  BELIEVE and then you will receive.  Unfortunately, this can be so much easier said than done and is often projected but not internalized.  If the prerequisite for the miraculous is our belief, then why does it seem like miracles are so distant and sporadic?  Today, I am NOT asking you if you believe that God is free to perform the miraculous in the lives on behalf of which you intercede.  No.

Today, I want you to think about the status of your own belief for the miraculous to happen in YOUR life.  Is the freedom for our God to release the miracles in your life being choked by your own unbelief?  Have you arrested the power of the Word to be manifest in your own life because what you believe you should have or experience in your life is not in line with the word that God has spoken into your life?

My friends, what do you want/need from God?  And I want you to think BIG!  What supernatural move do you need God to make in your own life?  Picture IT.  Name IT.  Take your time with IT.  Think about how your life would change because of IT. Take a moment and enjoy IT in your mind’s eye.

Take your time.

Picture IT.  Name IT. Take your time with IT.  Think about how your life would change because of IT. Take a moment and enjoy IT in your mind’s eye.

NOW, I want you to name all of the reasons why you do not believe IT will happen for you.  Do you think you do not deserve IT?  Do you think that you need to get better prepared for IT?  Are you scared that if IT happens your whole life will change and people may not see you the same?  Have you even asked for IT?  Again, I am not saying that you do not believe IN God.  I am not saying that you do not believe that God is ABLE. I am asking you to consider whether you believe that our God will perform the miraculous in YOUR life.

Now I can only imagine the anxiety that this parent felt due to the illness of his son.  His son was not well but he obviously believed that Jesus could do something to correct his son’s situation.  He needed a miracle.  He knew there was a man who was able to perform miracles.  He approached Him and asked for a miracle. And after he asked Jesus to come to perform the miracle, Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way. And those three words, made all the difference.  THY SON LIVETH.  And the nobleman believed…

AND he obeyed.  Jesus told him to GO THY WAY and the man went his way.  BlogFam, perhaps you do believe the word that the Lord has spoken into your life.  You have received the seed for the miraculous to take root and to bring a harvest into your life.  So, maybe it is NOT that you do not believe that your IT can happen but could it be that you have NOT followed the instruction that accompanied your word?  Have you considered that it is not your belief that has choked the word but it is your disobedience that has not released the miraculous to happen in your life?

We can imagine what may or may not have happened had this nobleman ignored Jesus instruction to GO THY WAY.  I cannot say for sure that his son would not have been healed; however, I can observe in this passage that the nobleman took Jesus at his word and so he went his way. As I read this passage, I do think that Jesus seems to be a little short with the man. Go on, your son liveth. That is all.  And this was spoken after he told the man he did not believe him in the first place.  Jesus is funny to me.  [LOL!]

At the same time, once you hear the word of the Lord for YOU, what more do you need to hear?   How much pampering do you need to receive after life has been spoken from Life, Himself? My sistas and brothas, GO YOUR WAY! Many of you have already heard the word from the Lord regarding your miracle and you even believe it BUT you are staggering at your promise through disobedience and that is hindering the miraculous from being freely performed in your life.  You already have your word.  So, go your way, obey, and receive. That is all.

BlogFam, we should all want the Original Composer of our lives to flow in the volubilita by His own power.  We want the Master Conductor to be free to perform the miraculous in our lives. And YES, our God has the power and the desire to do so; however, our lack of receptivity is due to our own unbelief or disobedience.

My friends, I pray that on this day you would hear the voice of the Holy whisper to You again and again GO YOUR WAY, YOUR ___________________ LIVETH! I pray that you would hear that word afresh and BELIEVE.  I pray that you would hear that word afresh and OBEY.  I pray that you would hear that word afresh and RECEIVE.

And, lastly, I pray that as you go your way, you, too would have the testimony of this nobleman, that in the SAME hour, your miracle would come and your whole house would believe!
