Just A Quick REMINDER: Stand Firm in Your FAITH!

Greetings!

BlogFam -
Here is a quick word of REMINDER to you on today:
If you do not stand firm in your faith,
then you will not stand at all.
[Isaiah 7:9b]

I know that this word is not a deep revelation for some of you but it is at the very least a quick REMINDER to us all.  It is a word from the Lord, in the context of Isaiah 7, when the King of Judah is threatened by two other armies.  The threat is such that the hearts of the king and his people "trembled like trees in a forest shaking in he wind.

I Know I'm Messed Up BUT I can Still See the King!

Greetings!

BlogFam,
I am not perfect.
And neither are you.
Now take a deep breath because it is OK.
It is OK for us not to be perfect and most of all it is a wonderful gift to know that perfection is NOT a requirement of our servant status.  Obedience, not perfection, is the requirement.  And while we might all find it challenging to obey the Lord in every situation and circumstance of the private and public witness of our lives, it is possible.  But perfection , on the other hand, is IM-possible.

When God Flips Your Script [#RIP Uncle Cortez]

Greetings!

BlogFam -

On this past weekend, God flipped my script.  And I do not mean the usual, slap your neighbor give a shout out for joy because your situation is turning around for your good kind of flip.  I mean, a flip that changed my life as I now know it.  I mean, a flip that creates a void that cannot be filled.  I mean, a flip that sends a shock through your soul and fills your eyes with a countless amount of tears and your heart with unimaginable pain. My uncle died totally unexpectedly over the weekend.

Only the HOLY Survive...

Greetings!

BlogFam -
Have you ever heard the saying that : "Only the Strong survive?"  I first heard it years ago and I cannot recall the context or circumstances in which it was quoted or by whom, but it stuck.  And while I have heard that exact same phrase many times since then, I cannot say that I have ever used it as a motivational quote or personal mantra for my own life.  I am sure that others have done so and have advised it and were able to use it to make sense of their world and I can understand why they would do so.

Consider Your Righteous and Wicked Self

Greetings!

BlogFam - It is a cold day here in Memphis.  It is cold and icy and snowing and I am grateful for the warmth of my home.  My sister and I actually mentioned how much our hearts go out to people who do not have a place to live or heat to make their home more comfortable in these freezing temperatures.  I hope that you will whisper a prayer for them at this time and if you are in a position to support someone in this season with a coat or a sweater or a place to stay, please do.
